TO WHAT EXTENT DID THE FRENCH REVOLUTION BRING ABOUT CHANGE?
The changes the the French revolution brought along was to quite a large extent, because the way the country was controlled and the whole social scale was completely recreated. The country was originally a monarchy, where the king and queen had all the power, and anything they say would be finally. After the revolution, the country was now ruled by a great congress, where all the decisions would be made by the victorious allies after agreement with one another. Before the revolution, there were three types of people in the country, the Clergy, 0.5%, the nobles (land owners, people with power and money), 1.5% of the people, and then everyone else, the poor people, the peasants, and also the Bourgeoisie (Middle class people). After the revolution, the people weren't classified into these 3 categories anymore, and most of the people would have enough money and food to care for their family, which would create peace which lasts for around 40 or so years.
Personally, I don't actually think the revolution was quite successful. This is because there was just too much bloodshed and executions going on throughout the revolution. Only just counting the death toll during the reign of terror, it went up to over 40000 people (Women and children included). The sacrifices that were made just so that the revolution could be carried out completely outweighs the improvements that the revolution brought, so overall, the French revolution brought along a large extent of change, but the process could have been much smoother, requiring less bloodshed and less people ending up dead overall.
